On1 April 2013, the Police Complaints Commissioner for Scotland became the Police Investigations & Review Commissioner.

PIRC is investigating an incident on 4 May 2013 in Bannockburn, Stirling where police used a baton round and taser against a 15 year old boy. A report of the investigation findings will be published in due course.

The Commissioner has published five reviews since becoming the Police Investigations & Review Commissioner on 1 April 2013.

PIRC is investigating the circumstances leading up the the death of a man in Perth. A report into the findings will be submitted to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service.

The Police Investigations & Review Commissioner is assessing the discharge of a taser in Edinburgh on 15 May 2013.
