Following an incident on Sunday 2 June involving a 39 year old male pedestrian and a vehicle on the A92 Arbroath to Carnoustie road, the Police Service of Scotland referred the matter the Police Investigations & Review Commissioner.

Following a road traffic accident involving a marked police vehicle and car in Dunfermline on 15 May, the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service has referred the matter to the PIRC.

PIRC is investigating an incident on 4 May 2013 in Bannockburn, Stirling where police used a baton round and taser against a 15 year old boy. A report of the investigation findings will be published in due course.
