PIRC investigation: Crown directed investigation following death of 46-year-old man

The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) has instructed the Police Investigations & Review Commissioner (PIRC) to undertake an independent investigation following the death of David Penman, 46, whose body was discovered in Dunipace, near Denny, on Thursday 15 December 2016.

The investigation will focus on the response from Police Scotland to telephone calls made by members of the public between Tuesday 13 December and Thursday 15 December 2016 in relation to a parked vehicle.

A report on the Commissioners findings has been submitted to the COPFS for their consideration.
