Commissioner launches investigation into allegation of criminal conduct against serving Police Officer


The Police Investigations & Review Commissioner (PIRC) has been instructed by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) to carry out an investigation into an allegation of criminal conduct against a serving Police Scotland officer.

A spokeswoman for the PIRC said:

"The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) has instructed the Police Investigations & Review Commissioner (PIRC) to investigate an allegation of criminal conduct, including criminal neglect of duty, against an officer serving with Police Scotland.

"A report on the Commissioner's findings will be submitted to the COPFS in due course."
