Commissioner launches investigation into an allegation of criminal neglect against serving Police Officers


The Police Investigations & Review Commissioner (PIRC) has been instructed by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) to carry out an investigation into an allegation of criminal neglect against officers serving with Police Scotland.

A spokeswoman for the PIRC said:

"The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) has instructed the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC) to investigate an allegation of criminal neglect against officers serving with Police Scotland.

"A report on the Commissioner's findings will be submitted to the COPFS in due course."
