Commissioner investigating circumstances leading up to death of 49-year-old man


The Police Investigations & Review Commissioner (PIRC) is undertaking an investigation following the discovery of the body of a 49-year-old man at a property in Glasgow on Monday 30 January 2017.

A spokesman for the PIRC said:

"The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) has instructed the Police Investigations & Review Commissioner (PIRC) to investigate the circumstances leading up to the discovery of the body of a 49-year-old man at a flat in Glasgow on Monday 30 January 2017.

"The investigation will focus on the response from Police Scotland to a telephone call made by a member of the public on Monday 30 January 2017.   

"A report on the Commissioner's findings will be submitted to the COPFS in due course."
