Investigation into discharge of PAVA spray by police on 27-year-old man


The Commissioner in undertaking an investigation after police discharged PAVA spray during an incident involving a 27-year-old man in Annan.

A spokesman said:

"The Police Investigations & Review Commissioner (PIRC) is investigating an incident in Annan on 19 March 2017 involving a 27-year-old man where an incapacitant spray - known as Captor PAVA - was discharged by an officer with Police Scotland before the man was arrested.

"The incident was referred by the Chief Constable for investigation and a report on the Commissioner's findings will be submitted in due course."
