Learning Point & Quality Matters

As part of the Commissioner's commitment to secure efficient and effective complaint handling, the Police Investigations & Review Commissioner issues a regular practice bulletin called Learning Point to all police bodies in Scotland. The work of the Quality Assurance team under Section 42 of the Police, Public Order and Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2006 is incorporated in a section within the bulletin called Quality Matters.

The Commissioner believes that regular bulletins will assist policing bodies across Scotland to learn from the recommendations made in individual cases. This will, in turn, encourage improvements to practices and procedures across the whole police service.
